Companion assisted suicide bills HB0598/SB0640, were introduced on January 30 and 31, 2025 respectively. HB0598 was assigned to the House Population Health Subcommittee on February 5. On March 4, the subcommittee convened and HB0598 failed to pass out of the subcommittee. SB0640 passed on First Consideration and was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 12.
The Tennessee legislature adjourned for the year without any further action on the bills.
